Roger Federer has promised to play Davis Cup tennis again even after Switzerland slumped to a first-round defeat to the USA.
Defeat for Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka, the reigning Olympic champions, in Saturday's doubles to Mike Bryan and Mardy Fish, made it 3-0 to the USA.
The American duo won the clash 4-6 6-3 6-3 6-3 but Federer, who was playing a first-round tie for the first time in eight years, was not too disheartened, saying: "I enjoy being with the boys, so I hope we can do it again down the road. This is not a setback or a step forward. It's nothing.
"I love my time with Stan and the guys and that's what counts for me."
Fish is 7.00 to beat Federer on Sunday while Wawrinka is 2.20 to emerge victorious against John Isner.
