The Charlotte Bobcats tumbled to 3-24 on the season with a 111-86 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Clippers at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Charlotte, who have lost 14 in a row, shot just 35% from the field highlighted by Reggie Williams 1-of-12 from the floor as the Clippers increased their Pacific division lead over the Lakers to three games.
Blake Griffin led all scorers with 21 points as every LA starter was in double figures. The Denver Nuggets stopped the rot in surprising fashion going into Indiana and beating the Pacers after losing five straight including the last three at home to the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors.
Ty Lawson had 27 points and Arron Afflalo added 23 for the Nuggets who now trail the Oklahoma City Thunder by five and a half games.
The Mavericks had to go double overtime before prevailing 97-94 against the Portland trailblazers at the American Airlines Center.
Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry's combined 39 points offset a huge game from the Trailblazers' LaMarcus Aldridge who lit up Dallas for 33 points on 14-of-26 from the field and also pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Lakers are 7501.00 to be crowned NBA champions this season, with the Celtics 9.50 and the Detroit Pistons 7501.00.
