Hornets stop Knicks winning streak

Jeremy Lin had 26 points, but also committed nine turnovers as the New York Knicks lost at home 89-85 to the New Orleans Hornets.
Entering Madison Square Garden with a 6-23 record the Hornets had little pressure on them in face of the Linsanity mania that has gripped New York. All five Hornets' starters were in double figures led by Trevor Ariza's 25 as New Orleans took a 14-point first-quarter lead and held on for the win.
The Knicks didn't lose any ground to the Philadelphia 76ers as the Dallas Mavericks went into Philly and ground out an 82-75 win. Dirk Nowitzki's double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds were game highs as the Mavericks picked up their third straight.
Al Jefferson had 34 points on 16-of-23 shooting as the Utah Jazz easily beat the visiting Washington Wizards 114-100 at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City. Jefferson's performance offset one of the better nights of the year for Washington's John Wall who was 8-of-12 from the field and a perfect 8-of-8 from the line for a team-high 24 points. Marcus Thornton also had 24 points and DeMarcus Cousins added 26 more for the Sacramento Kings, but it wasn't enough as the Detroit Pistons came out on top 114-108.
The Knicks are 5001.00 to win the Eastern Conference while the 76ers are 19.00.
