The defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks traveled to Denver on Wednesday and beat the Nuggets 105-95 at the Pepsi Center.
It was the fourth consecutive defeat for the Nuggets, who were without Danilo Gallinari who is expected to miss up to a month of the season after injuring his left ankle against the Houston Rockets. Al Harrington and Rudy Fernandez each had 17 points off the bench to lead Denver, but they were no match for the Mavericks as Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 25 points on 11-of-20 from the floor.
Dallas was unable to gain any ground on the division leading San Antonio Spurs as Tony Parker scorched the Philadelphia 76ers for 37 points in a 100-90 win in Philly. The veteran point guard was 12-of-24 from the field and a perfect 13-of-13 from the line as the Spurs picked up their sixth in a row.
The Memphis Grizzlies took advantage of Kevin Love's league suspension to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 85-80. Absent his main weapon, Ricky Rubio had only one assist on the night as both teams moved to an even .500 at 13-13 for the campaign. Also losing were the Los Angeles Clippers who went into Cleveland and were surprised 99-92 by the Cavaliers who were playing without Kyrie Irving who sat out after being diagnosed with a concussion.
The Nuggets are 7501.00 to win the NBA Championship while the Mavericks are 7501.00 and the Spurs are 2.80.
